Ghosts of the Short Grass Prairie

Time is the most powerful and beautiful paintbrush.
The landscape of south-western Saskatchewan is vast and timeless.  The actions of wind and water have sculpted and moulded the land over millennia.   The structures that humans have added cannot win the fight against the elements.  But yet they offer a fleeting glimpse into the people and recent history as they gradually become part of the land.  This film examines the beauty of these ghostly structures and their connection with the people and the land.

The Team

Randall Kapuscinski - Writer/Director

Randall has lived in Manhattan, Australia, British Columbia, and Alberta. He also spent a couple of years living in a Volkswagen van as he travelled around North America.  The three years he spent living and working in Medicine Hat, Alberta made a strong impact and the powerful memories of the short-grass prairie landscape from this period inspired this project.
