OWEN BELFORD - DIRECTOR
I met Alex in first year, and I was immediately captivated by his eccentric life. The moment that really pushed me to make this documentary was when I went into his dorm and saw his bug pinning collection, where upon he told me his dad passed out in a tent making the arsenic he was now showing me in an enclosed space. Now that I have the opportunity, I'm biting at the bit to bring him and his story to everyone I possibly can. 
MACKENZIE SOUSA - SOUND
Hello, I’m Mackenzie! This documentary idea had been in discussion for quite some time, and getting the opportunity to actually create it has been a great experience. Alex was the first person I ever worked with on a project in college. Our assignment was to create a two-minute short of someone getting ready. I got Alex to dress up as a magician, and he had me peel a bunch of carrots on the sidewalk. Along with a memorable first project, Alex was my next-door neighbor in residence, living next to him made my first time living away from home an interesting experience. Alex is a funny, genuine, and passionate person, through this documentary I hope others can learn more about him and his crazy life.

I met Alex in First year Cinematography with the Ian Thompson. All of his films were so amazing and once I heard the concept of making a documentary around his astounding life, I knew I had to hop on the opportunity to join the team! I am so excited to be the AC on this project and can’t wait for all of you to see this amazing exploration of this incredibly interesting persons life.

I met Alex on my first day at Sheridan College. Over the course of two semesters working with him, and hanging out with him outside of school, I got to learn a lot about him. He was by far one of the most interesting people I’d ever met. When Lucas and Owen told me they were going to make a documentary about his life I knew I had to be involved in some way. Alex is a great guy and I’m excited for people to meet him. |
THOMAS HEYWOOD - PRODUCER
I met Alex in first year of BFTV and we clicked almost instantly. While kind of a strange guy, his stories of the life he'd lived fascinated me, and I found him endlessly entertaining to be around. We'd hang out pretty regularly, watching movies and even making a few movies together, including the legendary Wolfin'. Since I met him, I believed Alex would be an amazing subject for a documentary, as he is truly an interesting and very talented character, and I'm glad to finally be able to take part in this documentary.

I met Alex back in year one here at Sheridan College. I've worked on a couple film projects with him and each time I talk with him, I've learned something crazier and crazier each time. He is definitely a character and when I found out he was going to pitch him for documentary. I knew I just had to be a part of the project.

Hello, I’m Mandy! I am the picture editor. I worked on several school projects with this guy in first year; horrifying experience. But I digress, he is fascinating. He’s something like a bug or a creature, something to study beneath a microscope; it’s astonishing the fact this man is alive. I don’t think anyone has encompassed the grandeur of the human spirit greater than Alex Skevington. May he live to see another year!

LUCAS GEUZEBROEK - SOUND/HOST
Hello I'm Lucas Geuzebroek and I am doing sound on this doc. I am also the lead interviewer. This documentary was actually my idea because of my many experiences with this Alex character. Through my time knowing him he has recounted many of his exploits. That was cool and all but I think it was after the second time he came into my dorm drunk and talking in a pirate accent I knew people needed to hear his story. 
BEN DASHWOOD - TRANSMEDIA PRODUCER
I'm Ben Dashwood, and I'm the Transmedia Producer, BTS, and Assistant Editor of My Friend Alex! I have never met Alex. I am coming at this from a very para-social perspective. I have seen lots of footage of Alex. I have heard him say many wise words, and he doesn't even know of my existence. This saddens me, and the reason I have signed on to these roles is so that I may finally have the honor of meeting Alex Skevington.

My name is Lloyd Fromson and I am the colourist on Alex. I heard about the project through Lucas and Owen and thought it would be a great project to work on along side them. I sadly never really gotten the opportunity to speak to Alex much when he was at Sheridan, but I am incredibly excited to be a part of this production and to tell Alex’s story.
