What is love? ‘A Little Love’ explores contrasting yet complimentary explorations of love through interviews with award winning Canadian poet Kate Cayley, and renowned neuroscientist Sandra Langeslag. Through this documentary we journey from the conception all the way to the death of a relationship, all the while rotating through poetic views of the experience, and the biophysical realities of it. Through this experimental documentary we hope to provide viewers with a well rounded perspective on their own emotions, to hopefully allow the audience to understand themselves, their brains, and their bodies a little better.

Naomi KatzDirector & WriterHey !! I am the writer/director of A Little Love and I could not be more excited for this doc to be made and shared with others:) Love has always been an interesting topic for me. Oftentimes, as I’m sure many do, I feel as though the way that I feel or express love is wrong. I would constantly find myself looking for a source that I could point to that basically says “this is what you’re feeling and this is why you’re feeling that way!!” But that source doesn’t exist… YET! And that’s why I decided to make one! With the help of an awesome crew and some awesome subjects, I am so excited to explore what love means together, so we can all redefine love for ourselves, and have some time to reflect on just how beautiful it is that we’re able to experience such a lovely feeling. <3 Your ability to feel love is so amazing, and I hope watching this documentary can help you learn a bit more about yourself, as making it has helped me :)

Lileean BardaiProducerI’m excited to share the story of love and bring Naomi’s creative vision to life!/ To me, love means heartbreak and personal growth. My dad used to say “Heartbreak helps you grow up.” And he was right.

Brandon WicksonDirector of PhotographyI'm excited because it's very visually presented and I love that. I love the style and the vibe and I just wanna make little images that fit into that vibe:)

Gabriel OliveiraPicture EditorExcited to try something I haven’t before and edit a documentary film.

Marie ManciniProduction DesignerFor this documentary, I was given the opportunity to make an anatomical heart, brain, and the inside of a vein which was very exciting to execute! I’m excited to see how the props work with other visuals and how the visuals complement the different perspectives of love <3

Alyssa MitraPost Soundi’m excited to hear the different perspectives on love and what you will do with this project. i love a lot of people in my life. they’re all wonderful people. but more importantly, they believe in me as much, if not more, than i believe in them. they support me with [almost] every decision i make and are there to protect me in every way possible and vice versa. they are the ones i go to when i need help, to pitch an idea, to tell me when i’m wrong or to tell me i did well. they are the reasons i keep going and the reasons i’m still here today. to me, love means still being there even on my worst days and when i make the worst decisions/mistakes. love is complex but so simple. loving is easy (as Rex Orange County would say) but being in love is hard work. love is all the emotions hitting you at once and no one being able to help guide you through it because it’s different for every person. i love love because it’s a challenge and a risk but so fun once you start to somewhat understand it.

Ainsley McCrackenLocation SoundI’m excited to be given the opportunity on this doc to take our everyday sounds that we hear outside and don’t necessarily pick up on and capture those so they can help us tell the story of love. Love to me is a feeling of closeness, those that I love, I love because we have a deep sense of closeness and I can feel like I’m in a safe place. I don’t love easily but when I do it’s because I’ve discovered that I’m in a safe space when in their presence.

Carthan ChapmanGripI am super excited to portray the contrast between love as a science and love from an artistic perspective! Love to me means a shared loyalty of confided emotions between two individuals, whether it be platonic or romantic love can shape shift in so many different ways.

Gabriella Bourduas RousseletGafferI am excited to do this doc because 1. I love Naomi Katz 2. This is a very collaborative and positive crew that I am so grateful to be part of. Love is a great feeling and something that should be explored. Someone that holds a special place in my heart is my little sister. Words cannot describe how special she is to me and I don’t even think she knows herself. Personally, I think love is a deep feeling you have for someone that is positive, caring and unexplainable. I think the hardest part of love is expressing it to other people, but trusting they know how much they mean to you.

Kay TrevickTransmedia ProducerI can’t wait to help with the marketing for such a creative and visually ambitious film. I’m fascinated by the different kinds of love and how they intersect with every aspect of our lives. I’m secretly a romantic and I can’t wait to see how the film turns out, especially with all of the crew’s hard work.

Anna BautistaStory EditorI am excited to take on the challenge to encapsulate something as expansive and diverse as love, from the grand gestures down to the subtle signs. / One of the many people I love is a friend that I will refer to as T. We've shared many creative ideas and projects together, putting all the trust and respect in each other, our abilities, and our creativity. We had voice calls going well into the dead of night talking about anything and everything. He's the first person whom I've sent a care package and a written letter. Love is when you give pieces of yourself to others without fear. Love is when you see and include someone in your future.

Mya DavidsonResearchI’m excited to be apart of something that speaks on a subject area that everyone can relate to in one way or another. Love and science, emotion and chemistry. Both link us to what keeps our bodies not just waking every morning, but getting up. I believe everyone is secretly a hopeless romantic once you meet the right person. Love, like the brain, is a door to be opened and I’m excited to see this doc open that door.
