A woman shares the unexpected reality of being a phone sex operator and how it's not as sexy as it seems.
Dialled In explores the nature of sex work in both its beauty and pain through the eyes of Maeve, an online anonymous phone sex worker. Maeve discusses the empowerment her job provides and how it coexists with the sexism, sexualization and abuse she receives. Dialled In aims to humanize the woman behind the screen, and shed light on the realities of sex work.
Emmy Pitschner - Director
Hi there, I’m Emmy, the director of Dialled In! I’m really excited to share this story of sex, love, oppression, and empowerment, along with some of the untold truths of sex work. It’s complicated and messy but the dynamics at play are more common than expected and I hope this documentary can enlighten, empower, and bring people together in empathy and understanding.

As a woman who’s had to take on a lot of responsibility, I feel empowered when I let my loved ones help me. I know that I could do it myself but I am strong enough to accept love from others. I think that working on this doc is the best reminder of how important strong female friendship is!!
Leah Barrington - Director of Photography
I feel empowered when I work with other creative women, which is why I’m so excited to be a part of this film! In a male-dominated industry, it’s a rare opportunity to create a film with a crew of all women, so I’m super grateful. It’s been amazing feeling so valued and encouraged on this team and to see everyone excelling in their roles on and off set! I’ve been having the best time and can’t wait for everyone to see the film!!

My girl friends empower me. I feel confident and proud when I hangout with them. I love having a group of strong female friends I can confide in when I am struggling with something, that always give me the best advice. I am excited to work on this doc because I think it is going to be visually beautiful.

Something that empowers me is seeing women support one another and achieve success in their passions!!!
I’m excited to work on this documentary with an all-female crew and to create a visually appealing documentary that complements the subject and her story. <3
Kay Trevick - Animator
I feel empowered by self-expression, whether that be through what I put out into the world or through fashion that makes me feel different ways. I wish I could say my empowerment comes from within but I often rely on a strong support system of empowered women to help me feel like my best self. I’m so excited to work on this documentary because Emmy and her team have developed such an engaging style for the film to illustrate important topics from Maeve’s stories. I’m proud of Emmy for tackling this subject matter and fighting to speak about the sides of sex work we don’t like to think about. I’ve already learned so much working on this project and I can’t wait to see the final product.

The encouragement from my friends and family empower me. The topic of this documentary is typically considered taboo, but I was excited to see how we could explore that topic in a respectful and empowering way. I especially love the art direction and aesthetics of the documentary -- the hazy and dreamy atmosphere.
Sage Durrant - Transmedia Producer

I am so excited to be working with all these talented ladies on the crew and to help Emmy create her vision on the screen. I feel empowered by my friends, family and women all around the world. I love lifting other women up and helping them achieve their goals. I am incredibly proud of this crew and how far we have come. They continue to inspire me every day <3

I feel empowered when I look good but only for me. I'm so excited to work on the DIAL project because it is about women, for women and by women. It makes me passionate about the project to know that we are all incredibly dedicated to it!
