A father and a son embark on an unforgettable road trip in a 1977 Westfalia camper van through southern Ontario, sharing memories and discovering family values that will live on past the van's life.
Our Film
The documentary follows Eden, a student at Sheridan College, and his father, Christian, as they travel in the Westfalia camper van from Rockwood to Guelph, and Grimsby. At these stops family members are interviewed about their history with the van, and all together they share stories and memories surrounding the family. At its core, the documentary follows the relationship between a father and son as they relive a past tradition of camping in the van. The road trip is a journey bringing family together and uncovering a history of memories and values.

Hey, my names Eden Wassermann and I’m the director for One Happy Van. This project acts as a sort of time capsule for my family and it’s going to be something that we get to look back on for years and years. I’m really fortunate I got to share this experience with my close friends and crew mates, especially our DOP, Brayden. So stay tuned to meet the people that helped make this a reality!
