"My name is Anthony Kubelka and I am the composer for the documentary “Kime”! I am a graduate of the Bachelor of Music Honours program at Carleton University (B.Mus 2020), and the Master of Music (M.Mus) in Jazz Performance program at the University of Toronto. Over that period, I have developed a keen interest in composing and writing for films, televisions, animations, and other forms of multimedia. I am deeply passionate about music, and I also harbour an interest in sports too, which was one of the big reasons why I was drawn to Kime. I was enrolled in a Karate school for roughly three years in my tweens and early teens, and have remembered that experience fondly. My vision for the future is to be writing and composing for films and television as my profession. I am looking forward to writing and composing for Kime!"

Behind The Scenes

The School
The Mississauga Academy of Martial arts opened its doors on April 1st, 1996. Renshi Ian Jay took one of the biggest risks opening a karate school in Mississauga with a huge space. 26 years later and the school is still standing strong

A picture of Andrea our interviewee during training.
The reason the school has been standing for so long is because of the tight knit and supportive community
Many people walk in to the school to get in shape or learn self-defence, but they end up developing life long friendships. The schools longevity is a testament of how the martial arts can change a person's life
