Mill Quintero Acosta
Director + Co Producer

I’m Mill, the director and co-producer of In Transit. I have always cherished the shared community space that public transit provides us. It’s a space in which all different members of the community coexist as well as allow themselves to freely meander and reflect upon their day. Directing this documentary I have learned an infinite amount about filmmaking as well as experimental approaches to film due to its poetic nature. I am deeply grateful for my crew and all the hard work they have put into creating this experience. I’m very proud of the result.

Adam March - Producer

Hi, my name is Adam March and I'm the producer for In Transit. Personally, using public transportation puts me in a unique headspace that allows my countless thoughts to wander. The flow of these thoughts in this environment is practically begging for an experimental doc to be made on it... so we made it. I had a lot of fun helping out on this doc and I hope everyone enjoys it as much as we enjoyed making it

Arshia Prajapati
Director of Photography

Hi my name is Arshia Prajapati and I’m the director of photography / camera operator for this epic film. As someone who gets a lot of anxiety while being on public transit, I found this film’s concept extremely unique.  We wanted to prioritize creating a stunning yet immersive visual experience for the audience while being as raw as we can about showcasing the intricate attributes of public transit and the surrounding environment. This was all done by mostly using a handheld approach to shooting! I am immensely excited for everyone to watch this film as it will definitely take you through a one of a kind audio-visual experience.

Evan Vlajkov - Picture Editor

Hi, my name is Evan Vlajkov and I am the picture editor for in Transit. It has been a great and challenging project that I am excited for people to watch for themselves. When I was first asked by Mill to be the picture editor for his film I was curious about the idea and went to look at his pitch. Once I read it, I was very interested in the concept and it was a project that I wanted to be a part of. When I take public transit, I am immersed in my thoughts, thinking about the various things happening in life. To try and create that feeling of being immersed in that environment, is something that I am very proud of accomplishing. something that I believe me and the director were able to capture perfectly visually. I cannot wait for people to watch this film and be transported into that space. To become immersed in transit.

Maxim Geoffrion
 Sound Engineer + Sound Designer

Hello! I am Maxim Geoffrion, sound designer and engineer behind the documentary  “In Transit“. When I heard about Mill’s concept of internal thoughts and the plethora of human stories which converge while riding public transit, I knew this was a project I could relate to. While challenging in some aspects, the sound design process took many forms. For instance, much effort was put into capturing numerous transit sounds through the experience of riding public transit. Additionally, the team and I spent many hours in a recording studio capturing ambiances, chatter, thoughts, and more with the goal to create the illusion of movement within the soundscape. Moreover, the sound is enhanced by excellent music from Dani, In-Transit’s talented composer. In such a sound-heavy film, the mixing process was complex but rewarding.

Assistant Director + Supervising Editor

It was a great experience getting to keep everyone on schedule and make sure Mill was sticking to the shot list while running around the subway system of Toronto. What a first 1st AD experience! Shooting a blend of Cinema Verite and highly stylized handheld shots on trains and subways was a great and unique experience, and getting to be the person that put highlighter to the shot list so that everyone else could do all the hard work was pretty epic.

The visual style and thematic concept of In Transit really appealed to me. Being there from day one and getting to throw ideas back and forth with Mill and then help in the editing process to make sure we pull off the tone and pace we wanted visually was creatively fulfilling. It was fun to figure out how to go about directing the editing process for the main sequence of the film as it is a very unique experience that took a lot of work from the planning to the execution. After many overlays and many effects and many brain picking workarounds, I'm very exited for people see experience this ambitious journey.

Dani Meisner - Composer

Hey I'm Dani, I'm the composer for in transit. I've always hated taking the bus, train, subway etc. when I don't have to, but there are always those times when I do... so I'm all too familiar with the space. When working on the sound of this film, we tried to create a transient sort of monotony that really highlights the droning anticipatory feeling of the space. As for me, I've been a songwriter for many years now, but this has been among my first projects where I dive into scoring film and I'm privileged to have been a part of it. A score weaves the emotional threads of a film together into a cohesive garment, bringing the audience into the world in many ways. It's an amazing thing to create

Hi my names Caleb, I’m the writer for In Transit and it’s been a really exciting project to work on. I’m fascinated by how people interact with public spaces and this project gave me a chance to develop a new understanding of our transport systems and our relationships with them. This is my first time writing for a documentary and it’s been amazing working with Mill to develop unique viewpoints to explore in the film. I’m insanely excited about the movie and I can’t wait to see it when it’s released.

Evan Jones - Colourist

Hi, my name is Evan and I am the colourist for In Transit. I loved this project's unique idea from the moment I heard it and am very grateful I had the opportunity to work on it. Much of the challenge for myself has been making sure the shots have a consistent feel but also keeping the light and colour originally captured by our awesome DoP. It has been a great time working with Mill and putting the final touches on the picture.

Peter Sauer - BTS Photographer
Hey Im Peter Sauer and I was doing BTS Photography while on set for “In Transit”. Growing up I spent a lot of time taking public transit to get around. Part of the process of taking public transit is waiting. Waiting for my bus to arrive, waiting for my next stop. All this waiting gives to the chance to slow down, to stop and think and reflect on life. Once I heard about this project, I knew I had to be apart of it. I had a lot of fun working with everyone as we turned this idea into a documentary.
