Dani Meisner (They/Them) - Director

"Heyy I’m Dani, I’m the director of Formless. This project was born from questions I had about my experience with gender and thus has been highly personal to me. I’ve spent years questioning my identity and ultimately trying to understand how I fit into the roles society has assigned to me, but I was never satisfied. This film is the story of that journey leading to self-acceptance"

Jacob Belisario (He/Him)- Transmedia/BTS Photographer

"I am honoured to be a part of this project and believe it will provide perspective to those who don't struggle with gender identity. This film will help people gain a better understanding about the struggles of gender dysphoria among this generation of youths. I aim to capture a glimpse of the hard work our team has put into the project"

Jae Higgins (She/Her) - Editor

Mill Quintero (He/Him) - Production Design

"My work as Production Designer on this documentary has been to find a way to capture the abstract concept of gender and the uniqueness of everyone’s experience with it. Crafting an aesthetic that can both portray euphoria and dysphoria has been cathartic for my personal experience with both of these emotions. It’s been a pleasure to have an opportunity to work this team and to help platform trans voices in the community."

SUBJECTS

Picture

Adrienne Wagenaar (She/Her)

"My name is Adrienne, and I'm a 21-year-old trans woman currently studying at Sheridan College. I was able to start my medical transition two years ago, and although it's been a bumpy ride, I wouldn't have it any other way. Outside of that, I enjoy photography and writing short stories. I'm so happy to be involved in this documentary process and have it be part of my journey."

Jae Higgins (She/Her)

"I enjoyed being in Formless as I feel like trans people get so many sob stories about their experience. Formless gives opportunity to discuss the neutral experience and positive aspects to being trans and when it does get darker in subject matter its not downtrodden, it stays hopeful and curious. It views gender as something to explore and discover all packaged inside a creepy, sci-fi, surreal, and exciting package."

Picture

Mill Quintero (He/Him)

"My name is Mill, I’m a 22 year old trans guy. I’m proud to be representing this part of the trans community in this documentary. With my participation I hope to raise awareness about the diversity of trans experiences within the community and hopefully make other trans people out there feel less lonely in their journey."
