The story of a young Indigenous man who attempts to learn the traditional, language, stories and culture of his ancestors that are from the other side of the continent.
This short documentary follows Barron Stewart, an Indigenous man belonging to the Kainai
(Blood) Nation of Southern Alberta. Due to his mother’s adoption by a white family from
Southern Ontario, he knows very little about his Indigenous roots. Thus, he sets attempts to
discover more about his culture by speaking to his family, elders and both online and written
sources.
The goal of this documentary is to inspire those of Indigenous background to come forward and learn more about their heritage so that these unique cultures and traditions are never forgotten
Lost Traditions is currently set to premiere December 15, 2021

BARRON STEWART

Barron is our Director, Sound editor as well as the lead subject on Lost Traditions
"Indigenous, Blackfoot and Cree background with Scottish-Canadian on fathers side, Tenor/Alto Saxophonist, avid camper and hiker, amateur photographer. Hoping to become a Production Sound Mixer or Supervising Sound Editor as my career (Sound Mixer currently is my goal)"

WILLIAM MCNAUGHT

One of our producers, Will is currently making sure everything runs smoothly for this doc
"Hey! I’m William McNaught and I’m co-producing Lost Traditions. I’ve been friends with Barron for a couple years now, and I feel that it’s important to help him learn about his family heritage. He has always expressed an interest in learning more about his Indiginous roots, and that’s why I’d like to help him on this journey and produce this documentary with him. Typically, I stay behind the scenes and hone my post production skills in picture editing or sound design, but for this project, I’ve decided to step out and experience a new avenue of the production process. I hope you are as excited as I am to see what this amazing team comes up with!"

RILEY MARINI

Riley is the Director of photography and cinematographer on this production
"Hey there, I’m Riley! ! I’m currently the director of photography on Lost Traditions. Outside of school I also do videography, photography, and prop design too! Of course I also enjoy consuming movies, shows and games whenever I’m not doing creative stuff. My dream would be to be able to shoot professionally or work for a production company that does prop commissions for the film and game industry, or doing a video-related job full time."

JAIME REBANAL

Jaime's our assistant director and has been helping direct, write and shooting the film
"Name's Jaime (not Jamie) and I am the co-director of Lost Traditions. Outside of making movies, I love watching movies, writing, and playing video games. Odds are I might have seen more movies than the entire BFTV program combined, but who knows?"

SABRINA PASCUZZO

Sabrina's currently our Lead Writer on Lost Traditions
"Heyo! I'm Sabrina, the Lead Writer on Lost Traditions! As my role suggests, I'm an aspiring writer, but I also dabble into Foley and editing. I'm extremely excited to be working with everyone here and I hope my contributions will help his documentary prosper!"

CHRISTIAN CANIETE

Christian is a producer on Lost Traditions working together with Will to efficiently manage the project
"Hiya! I’m Christian, I am co-producing Lost Traditions. I make music, most of the time for films, other times just for fun. I hope to go into post-production sound in the future while still hanging on to music and composing. I love listening to Vulfpeck, they are a huge inspiration for me when composing. Also I like pineapple on pizza."

MARCO AUDINO

Marco is our main editor and transmedia head for Lost Traditions
"Hi I'm Marco, super exited to be editing this project and bringing in some new techniques to the final edit. Transmedia has also been a nice challenge to give me a space to be more creative with my work. Aside from that I love old videogames (1V1 me in smash bros) and my anime watch list is probably the largest you'll find at school ;)"

FORD COUKELL

Ford's on the team as a production sound mixer and on set sound

"So proud to be part of such an amazing crew! I’m Ford, on this one, I’ll be shooting sound. We all want to be able to hear Barron and his families lovely voices telling us about their history, that’s where I come in. I think it is a very important narrative that Canadians and others around the world need to hear right now. I couldn’t be happier to lend a hand, or an ear? Outside of this project I love film and live for music. I am also an avid photographer, and independent musician with multiple releases on streaming services. A proud sufferer of Beatlemania"
