Behind the Scenes!
THE BREADCRUMBS CREW
Hi I’m Layla, I'm student at Sheridan College, currently in my 3rd year of Bachelor of Film and Television. I'm the producer for Following the Breadcrumbs. I’ve worked in the grocery industry for over 4 years and have experienced lots of food waste that I think can be salvaged. I’m very excited to show the audience what goes on in the grocery industry and see what can be done about food wastage. I've decided to go forward with this documentary because it’s something I work close with and I believe it’s a topic that needs attention.

DAWSON
Heyo! I'm Sabrina, the sound editor on this project! I've always been told to not buy clearance bakery items or whatever at the grocery store, whether it be "not fresh" or "bad already". However, I think it's that exact reason I decided to join this documentary, as I've always wanted to know how much of that food was actually bought. I'm really excited to share what we've unravelled when Following the Breadcrumbs.

Hi! I'm Kellsie! I'm the Assistant Editor for the documentary. As a student, money is hard to find sometimes especially when it comes to grocery shopping. I wanted to be apart of this doc to know more about food waste and how we can change how much food is thrown out. I’m excited for the world to see this documentary and open people's eyes on food waste and how we can change it.
Hi I'm Vanessa! I'm the transmedia artist and manager for Following the Breadcrumbs. I'm very excited to be a part of this crew and expose the illusion grocery stores want consumers to believe. Food waste is a very important issue to me and I truly do believe that there are better ways of dealing with it besides letting everything go into the trash.

Hi there! I'm William McNaught, location sound mixer on Following The Breadcrumbs documentary. I joined this project because of my interest in reducing food waste in Canada. This is a topic my dad and I would often talk about in our own home, while trying to figure out solutions to help reduce the waste we contribute. I've learned so much about the impact that food waste has in Canada through the variety of insightful workers we've interviewed for this film. I hope you are as excited as I am to learn the truth about food waste in Canada! Enjoy the show!
