ASMR, standing for Autonomous Sensory Meridian Response, is a feeling of euphoria caused by an auditory or visual stimulation. It often feels like a tingling in the back of a person's head and neck. In the past decade, videos intended to generate this feeling in its viewers through distinct sounds have blown up on the internet. This sounds include a person whispering, tapping on a desk or eating food, all performed in close proximity to a microphone.
ASMR: A digital therapy is a documentary that delves into this strange fad and asks the question of why do these sounds make its listeners feel this way. Real participants' reactions and thoughts are documented as they listen to a variety of sounds. Viewers will be pulled into the film as they experience what the participants do, giving them a chance to reflect, in real time, on the thoughts being discussed in this experiential documentary. |
