It Can Happen To You
A resigned real estate agent struggles to live with her suffering of unknown illnesses as her body continues to fail her and is dependent on her 80-year old mother. Against all odds, Lisa’s story sheds light on how she pushes to endure through the pain and proves that there is so much life to live.
It Can Happen To You is a profiling short documentary detailing the struggles of a retired real estate agent in Georgetown, Ontario, whose life was fundamentally changed a decade ago after falling victim to chronic illnesses without a name.
The film takes place in Lisa's home as she goes through her normal routine she follows, and highlighted by conversations with her sister Fern, their mother Rose, and highlighted by interactions with Lisa's therapy dog Riley. The film touches upon the unpredictability of life, the suffering and the joy it can bring, and ultimately the hope to inspire those affected by such happenings like Lisa, and to fight just as she does every day. Richard Ferguson
Director I am youthful and aspiring director that is trying to break the mould and tell the stories that are personal and that make an impact on others. I love the craft, but what I love more is to create an engaging experience for everyone to enjoy. I want to create films and shows and be on the producing and directing side of it all, with the creative outlet to help redefine what people want to watch. When I’m not trying to create, I am trying to reinvent, by studying past, present, and digesting forthcoming content. |
Gillian MacLeod

Kendra Davis
Editor Hello, I’m a third year editing and writing student in the Bachelor of Film and Television program at Sheridan College. My dream is to be an editor in anything and everything, if I can. I’m not really sure where I want to end up specifically, but I guess that’s the fun part of being alive - I’ve been going with the flow my whole life, so I might as well let it continue to take me. I stay healthy by taking time for myself as much as I can, getting plenty of sleep, and staying as positive as life will allow me to be. :) |
Matt Anderson
Colourist / Assistant Editor I am a third year Camera and Editing student at Sheridan. As one could probably tell, I have a passion for colour correction. As for the future, I hope to apply what I do into the realm that is VR, and hopefully work on a couple of features. In LA preferably. I'll probably still be broke. #worthit. I make sure to eat all my veggies to stay strong and healthy! |
