Mr.& Mrs. Persaud struggle with the highs and lows of taking care of their free-spirited son Daniel-Paul, an adult with down-syndrome.
For 28 years, Mr. & Mrs. Persaud live with the responsibility of taking care of Daniel-Paul. Their family faces the everyday struggle to maintain normalcy in their day-day when truthfully they will never achieve it. Merlyn & Daniel Persaud use sign language as a method of communication with their son Daniel-Paul and do activities that better indicate ways in which Daniel-Paul can communicate with others and help to understand his world better. The documentary will show the audience a brief history on Daniel-Paul’s daily routines and show testimonies on the Persaud family's troubled life with the situation created by his condition. Many people do not understand the pain, hard work and dedication parents go through in order to take care of people like Daniel-Paul. It is truly a life changing experience. Special Deilvery aims to break the stereotype of painting a rosy picture of one life's most traumatizing paradoxes: watching a loved one suffer and not being able to do anything than to mitigate the worst.
