A 20-year-old student finds herself at the centre of controversy at her university as she struggles to find balance between school and raising a guide-dog-in-training that may be banned from campus.

Maverick follows the story of a guide-dog-in-training, the titular Maverick, and his foster-owner/trainer Noni. It documents parts of what Noni’s life is like with Maverick and how much of an impact training a future guide dog has on a person’s life.

Kyle Smith | Producer
With the dream of becoming a showrunner, Kyle is pursuing a degree in Film and Television at Sheridan. A third year student, Kyle is specializing in producing, directing, and writing to achieve his dream. He is striving to create films that tell the stories of those who feel misrepresented. To do so, he is specializing in producing, directing, and writing in hopes of becoming a show-runner in the future.
Daniela Pinto | Location / Post-Sound
Daniela is a third year student in Sheridan’s Bachelor of Film and Television program, specializing in both location and post-production sound. She is also a classically-trained pianist and composer. Daniela is passionate about using her skills in both music and sound to help bring a high level of immersion to any project she works on.

Samantha MacNeil | Director
Samantha is a third year student in the Film and Television program at Sheridan College. She is focusing on Producing, Writing and Directing in order to achieve her goal of one day bringing her stories to life on the small screen as a showrunner. As a showrunner, Samantha wants to focus on strong and leading women in front of and behind the camera.

Chris is a third year student attending Sheridan College. From Mississauga, Chris grew up being a part of Scouts Canada. He has always been aware of the environment around him. Chris has always had a particular knack for cinematography, which he is pursuing now.

Kaden is a third-year Sheridan student focusing in all things camera and lighting. Born in Hamilton and raised in Burlington, he hopes to one day travel outside of North America with a camera in hand.
Emily Rennie | Editor
Emily is a third year Sheridan College student. While she enjoys editing, she has also recently discovered a talent for producing. She is a fantastic woman who can make miracles happen even at the latest of hours. Much love goes out to her.
