​Three young adults open up about their struggles with anxiety and depression.

​A for Anxiety follows the stories of three young adults who  struggle with anxiety and depression. This documentary aims to teach teens about mental illness through heartfelt  interviews and beautiful visual elements. Dancers portray these three powerful stories through eye catching modern choreography.

The Team

Picture
Owen Weir, The Director of A is for Anxiety. Already in his third year of the BFTV program, he has directed and written 5 projects. A for Anxiety is his first documentary. He is excited to be making something that will have a positive effect on those struggling with mental Illness

Josleyn Caron is our head sound mixer and sound editor. She is a 3rd year Bachelor of Film and Television Student from Brantford, Ont. She has loved movies ever since she was small. When she came to Sheridan to study filmmaking she fell in love with sound recording and editing streams. She hopes to gain a career in ADR, dubbing or voice acting.

Jessica Gomes, the creator and co-producer of A is for Anxiety. Originally from Toronto, she is currently in her 3rd year of the BFTV program. The oldest of three, she is a creative individual with a passion for photography, cinematography and editing that stemmed from making films for school assemblies in high school.

Luke Ionico is the editor of A for Anxiety. He was born in Burlington Ontario in 1992. He gained an interest in film from a young age, often making films with his cousins when they were less than 10 years old. Today he is completing his third year in the BFTV program at Sheridan College and hopes to gain a career in editing and writing.

Patrick Ritcey, the co-producer of A is for Anxiety. He grew up in Orillia Ontario, obsessed with movies and the filmmaking process. He is currently in his third year of the BFTV program with hopes of continuing a career in producing and production managment

Leslie Sui, the A.C (Assistant Camera) and head of Behind the Scenes photography. Leslie grew up in China and has lived in Canada for around 3 years for her studies in Film and Television Production. Although studying abroad is a challenge for her, she is grateful for the experiences she receives.

Liam Moore, Is a cinematographer and film student. As someone who has struggled with mental illness, he knows that film is an essential tool for breaking down the stigma behind mental health. He hopes that A for Anxiety will will inspire others to create something beautiful and reach out to someone in need .
